As you can probably tell through my various social medias and blog design, I love my pastel colours. But it's only recently that I've started expressing this love through my clothing choices. My draws and wardrobe used to very monochrome with very few pops of colour. I feel like I've definitely come a long way since then. In honour of this, I thought I'd share four of my favourite pastel coloured fashion items at the moment. Today's post is a photography type post since I feel like I haven't down one of these in a little while! Hope you enjoy!

Knitted Sweater

Thanks for checking out today's post! What colour do you like wearing the most? Do you prefer your blacks, whites and greys? Or do you believe the brighter and bolder, the better?

A few months ago, I gave my blog a little makeover. I didn't want drastic change, I just felt the need to tweak a couple of different things. I'm someone who really enjoys working on Photoshop so for me it was a really fun and creative process. As much as I love the photographic and content creating side of blogging, I enjoy the web design aspect just as much. For today's post, I thought I'd share the steps I took in revamping my webpage. If you're wanting to update your blog design, hopefully this gives you a little bit of inspiration!

Making a New Header
My header is top and centre so I made sure to take my time redesigning it. When considering different fonts and graphics, I decided I didn't want to stray too far from my original design. The composition of the old and new header are very similar/ almost identical with my profile on one side and the text on the other. Since I'd already established a certain colour scheme on my blog, with the pastels and pale shades of pinks, I thought it'd be a good idea to carry it through. As I said before, I didn't want to make any big adjustments, I just wanted to renew or slightly improve on what I already had. I was really happy with my new header because I felt like it was a lot more modern and mature and also a lot easier to read.

Creating a Profile For my Home Page
While I was editing my blog design, I was doing a lot research on what makes a good webpage. This was where I came across the idea of placing a profile image in your sidebar. I realised this was something that I'd thought about in the past but just never got around to doing. I think profile pictures are great because they allow you to put a face to the blog. I'd added one to my "About Me" page but not to my actual home page. When creating my profile image, I decided on a recent photo and made sure to attach a link so that when readers clicked on it, they'd be taken over to my bio anyway. I really liked how my profile turned out and thought it was a very functional addition to my home page.

Decluttering/ Editing my Sidebar Widgets
The last step in my blog makeover process was going through my sidebar and getting rid of anything that didn't necessarily need to be there. For some reason, I'd initially had two Bloglovin' widgets that connected to my Bloglovin' account. I figured that one was enough so I got rid of the other and replaced it with my profile image from above. There's nothing wrong with removing widgets to make room for new ones. That way, you can be sure you're making the best possible use of your sidebar space. I then edited my "Email Me" graphic so that it followed the aesthetic of the rest of my edits.

Putting my goals to paper are an essential part of my goal setting process. If I don't write or type them out somewhere for me to see, there's little to no chance of me completing them. At the start of 2018, I posted my New Year's Resolutions on the blog. You can find them here. I then copied them out into my bullet journal so that I'd have a physical copy of them as well. Since we're pretty much a third of the way into the year, I thought I'd do a little update post on how I've been progressing with my goals. Let me know how you guys are going with your New Year's resolutions in the comment section below!

1. Drink More Water Throughout The Day
I'm not going to lie, this resolution has been a lot harder than I had initially thought it would be. I've been drinking from my drink bottle a lot more but somedays I still struggle to get through the whole thing. I'll probably have to take a different approach to getting the recommended amount of water each day.

2. Get my Restricted Licence
Yesterday was a very exciting day for me. After a total of four lessons, two unsuccessful attempts and six months of procrastinating, I was finally able to get my restricted! Achieving this resolution felt like a huge weight off my shoulders. For anyone else preparing to sit their driving test sometime soon, good luck and I believe in you! It may take a little more practice than you anticipated, like it did with me, but I promise you'll get there in the right way and at the right time.

3. Commit to my Bullet Journal
Writing in my bullet journal has become a part of my daily routine. I record everything in it! So far, I've been having no issues with this resolution and I'm feeling pretty confident that I'll be able to maintain this consistency for the rest of this year.

4. Learn How to Cook
I think I've made a pretty good start on this resolution. I can't make a full meal yet but I've been trying to master a couple of side dishes. My wedges, in particular, have been a favourite in the household. I've made them so many times, I've even memorised the recipe. I still have a little while to go with this one but I'm definitely making progress.

5. Time Manage my Blog Posts Better
The fact that I'm writing this post the day I'm supposed to be uploading is a pretty good indication of how I've been going with this resolution. After a year and a half of blogging, I still have yet to use the schedule tool on Blogger. Having that time pressure at the end of the week almost takes the fun out of blogging. I'm hoping to make more of an effort on this one just because it's starting to really affect the way I feel towards writing my posts.

6. Be More Active on Social Media
I'm pretty happy with how I've been going about this resolution. Since Uni started up, these accounts have definitely been harder to maintain but I'm still checking them daily and keeping up to date with what's going on in the blogging community. I've also been getting a lot more enjoyment out of these social media platforms so that's definitely a plus as well.

Thanks for reading!
