(Printiki) Why I Love Memory Keeping

In my room is a large box that holds all my treasured mementoes; old diaries from my primary school days, handmade gifts from family and friends and lots of other little things with special backstories or memories attached to them. I know that whatever I keep, my future self will be thankful for. Preserving my memories is a big deal to me which is why that memory box is the most precious thing in my entire room. If I had to evacuate my room in a hurry, you can bet my memory box would be the first thing I grab.

Photographs play a huge role in my love for memory keeping. As a very visual person, I love having a photo to remember a special moment or occasion by. Photos are like little time machines. You can relive your favourite memories through them. Because of my love for memory keeping, physical copies are a must. I'm constantly paranoid about my phone or laptop crashing and losing all my photos in the process. This would destroy someone like me, who feels so passionately about items that carry sentimental value. I feel like photo printing isn't as common nowadays especially since photos are more easily shared online. Even though photo printing isn't as favoured as it used to be, I still think there's a magic to printed photos that you can't really get through a screen. Being able to physically hold a memory in your hand is a really amazing thing and I think we should all really take advantage of that.

Netherlands company Printiki also believe in the concept of bringing your photos to life. With their online photo printing tool, I was able to print out some of my favourite moments from the year so far. I was really happy with the way my prints turned out. While I'm hoping to put a majority on display in my room, the rest will no doubt be put into my memory box for safe keeping.

If you were wanting to print your photos, use the code 4CPSSSZN for free shipping on your order. Also be sure to check out Printiki's Instagram is you're unsure on what to do with your printed photos. Their feed is full of inspiration!

  1. Memory keeping is so important! You get to document your life growing up and can look back and see how much that has changed over the years. I always wanted to have printed pictures for memories but never got around to it. Oh man, I know I have that same paranoia about having a busted computer. I lost pictures from high school due to it! Thanks for sharing this!

  3. I have a memory box that I've had since I was about 13 and there are things in it that I have no idea why I saved now haha! I love physical photos, it's so nice to be able to have them to display too and not all holed up on a device. I'm currently making a scrapbook for mine and my boyfriends 5 year anniversary and I have soo many photos to print for it so I'll definitely take a look at Printiki!

  5. Wonderful post, I was recently thinking of doing something similar, the memory box idea seems perfect. How do you like the idea of a polaroid camera for printed photographs?

  11. I have to admit I'm awful at this. I never print photos, I'm camera shy so I'm never in the photos that I have so as far as things to remember things by go, I'm very limited. I love to create piles of things that will one day be a scrapbook from my travels but they're limited on the photos too. You've definitely inspired me to change that!! x

  14. I actually do have a memory box, well it's actually a glass and I keep a bunch of silly tiny stuff but meaninful. I also printed out a bunch of photos long time ago and had them on my wall but since I re-painted my room they're now in a drawer. Now seems like a good time to get new ones printed. Thanks for the rec Annie xx ♥

  15. I've heard lots of fab things about this brand! I used to be one of those kids and even growing up, who kept everything - cinema tickets, rocks from the beach - but the older I've got, the more I hate clutter so I'll throw anything away that isn't entirely necessary. I love memory keeping but I do most of that online now!
