5 Ways to Prepare For Christmas

As much as I love December, it's definitely my busiest month of the year. If it's the same for you, my advice is to plan ahead. Don't leave things to the last minute. There's nothing worse than running around on Christmas Eve trying to get everything done the night before. In today's post, I'm going to be sharing five ways to get ready for the 25th. Don't underestimate how many days you have left. They'll go by in the blink of an eye!

1. Write Your Christmas Wishlist
You're never too old for a Christmas Wishlist! There's nothing wrong with giving friends and family some kind of indication as to what you'd like getting. Of course they'd like to get you something you'd really love as you hope to do for them.

2. Decide on a Budget
When it comes to present buying, it's a good idea to limit yourself to a certain spending amount. That way you won't get too carried away while shopping. If you can figure out what you want to get each person early on, you'll have less trouble settling on a realistic budget.

3. Check You Have Enough Festive Gift Wrap
Make sure you have enough gift wrap to last you the holiday season. One or two rolls may seem like enough but can you never be too sure. It's always better to have more rather than less and you can always use your leftover rolls in the upcoming years.

4. Clean Your House From Top to Bottom
If you know you're going to be having a lot of guests throughout the month, be sure to give your house a good tidy. Get everything in order before bringing out the Christmas decor. It's important your space is all sorted out before giving it a festive makeover.

5. Restock Your Pantry
There's a lot of cooking and baking that happens around this time of year. Which means your pantry and fridge must be properly stocked. Replenish main ingredients like sugar, salt, flour and oil and for other, less ordinary supplies, refer to your favourite Christmas recipes.

Thanks for reading!

  1. I can't believe it is December already! It's so important to decide on a budget - nothing worse than running your bank account dry because you overspent. Oooh, I always like to buy gift wrap ahead of time to make sure I get them at the best deals and have plenty to spare! I need to figure out my Christmas wishlist @___@. Thanks for sharing these tips to prepare for Christmas!

  5. I struggle on the budget side of things. I decide a budget, spend that amount but since I start my Christmas shopping so early I see things and end up continually buying extra gifts haha!

  8. Great tips! I'm pretty organised so I'm pretty much done with Christmas already - I have a few last gifts to buy but that's it! My Mum and I have already ordered our frozen stuff for Christmas Eve and Christmas dinner and are storing it away in the freezer so we really don't have much left to do between now and then! Although I always make sure I have a huge declutter at the end of each year, which I'm hoping to do this week!

  10. Cleaning the house really is an important step. It gives you that spring cleaning feeling, but after the house is festive. Helps with navigating any crazy guests you might have. Plus it helps with clean up. Thanks for your list.

  12. The only thing I've got covered for Christmas is my christmas recipes. Beyond that, nothing! I still have so many presents to do. Although my brothers and I did decide on a budget for our parents' gifts!

  17. I think I’ve maybe gone down the opposite route and bought too much wrapping paper this year I went all out and got brown and white plain paper, and loads of different coloured twine! I’m so excited to get into my Christmas present wrapping ☺️ Great tips - I’ll need to restock my cupboards after exams for all the baking I plan to do!

  20. Such great tips! For me the biggest part of prepping is deciding what I'm going to cook! Checking you have enough wrapping paper is a good one, but it's always the tape that I forget to check x
